Jilin University (simplified Chinese: 吉林大学; traditional Chinese: 吉林大學; pinyin: Jílín Dàxué; often abbreviated JLU or 吉大) is a leading national research university under the direct jurisdiction of China's Ministry of Education.

Located in Changchun, the capital city of Jilin Province in Northeast China, the university has seven campuses in six districts which are home to thirty-nine colleges covering thirteen academic disciplines, including philosophy, international relations, economics, law, literature, education, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and military science. The University has thirteen disciplinary areas, six national key laboratories, and seven national bases for the development of basic science. Other resources include five research bases for humanities and social sciences, eleven key laboratories sponsored by the Ministry of Education and eleven by other ministries of Chinese government.

Jilin University is one of the most prestigious "Top 10" universities in China, and has several research projects in automobile engineering, chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering and biology be identified as internationally renowned. JLU also provides undergraduate and graduate programs across board as in law, literature, philosophy, medicine and veterinary science etc.. It is one of the key universities involved in China's Project 985, Project 211 and Project 2011.

Jilin University is a comprehensive and national key university. JLU offers a variety of degree programs. It has now 115 undergraduate programs, 192 Master's degree program, 105 doctoral degree programs, and seventeen post-doctoral programs. In 2003 the university enrolled 59,000 full-time students, including more than 10,000 graduate students. At present there are 6,540 faculty members, with twenty members of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, 1270 full professors, and 1652 associate professors.

It is one of the largest universities in China by student population (57,500 full-time students in 2009) and is supported directly by the national government.

Present-day Shandong University is the result of multiple mergers as well as splits and restructurings that have involved more than a dozen academic institutions over time. The oldest of Shandong University's precursor institutions, Cheeloo University, was founded by American and English mission agencies in the late 19th century (as Tengchow College of Liberal Arts in Penglai). Tengchow College was the first modern institution of higher learning in China. Shandong University derives its official founding date from the Imperial Shandong University (Chinese: 山东大学堂; pinyin: Shāndōng Dàxué Táng) established in Jinan in November 1901 as the second modern national university in the country.

Shandong University has seven campuses, all but one of which are located in the provincial capital city of Jinan. A campus to the northeast of the port city of Qingdao is under construction. The university has been classified as a National Key University by the Chinese Ministry of Education since 1960. It has been included in major national initiatives seeking to enhance the international competitiveness of the top-tier universities in China such as Project 985 and Project 211.

Southeast University (simplified Chinese: 东南大学; traditional Chinese: 東南大學; pinyin: Dōngnán Dàxué, SEU), colloquially Dongda (Chinese: 东大; pinyin: Dōngdà) is a public research university located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. It is one of the oldest universities and the first coeducational university in China. It is a member of both Project 985 and Project 211, and sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China aiming to become a well-known world-class university.

SEU has been ranked among the top 20 research universities in China, and among the top 500 in the world. In the official subject ranking conducted by the Ministry of Education of China, SEU has been ranked top three nationally in 8 fields including architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, art history, civil engineering, electronic engineering, transportation engineering and biomedical engineering.

Its predecessor, Sanjiang Normal College, was established in 1902 as a modern university on the campus of an academy which dates back to 258. In 1921, the school changed its name to National Southeast University and became the second national university in China. Later SEU was renamed to National Central University in 1927 and soon became the nation's flagship university. In 1952, the university was split into eight institutions during the communism revolution. And its engineering school, the largest school in terms of faculty number and student enrollment, stayed in its original campus and form Nanjing Institute of Technology, which changed its name back to Southeast University in 1988.

HNU has 27 Schools and Departments and offers 77 academic majors. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees. It is a key university of Heilongjiang and is under direct administration of Heilongjiang Province Department of Education. Its predecessor was Hsing-chih Normal School which was named after T'ao Hsing-chih-a famous educationist, and founded in Liberated Area in 1946 by the Communist Party of China.

HNU has a decent educational condition and strong faculty, it covers 3.46 million square meters land, has a building area of 150.1 square meters, a total value of 2.435 billion yuan in fixed assets, and teaching and research equipment worth 2.5 billion yuan.

HNU adheres to open education, engaging in comprehensive internantional communications, and has already built up intimate relationship of educational technology cooperation and academic exchange with more than 70 higher education institutions from 20-odd countries. Three Confucius Institute have been set up by HNU.

Daejin University, a South Korean private university, operates one of its two China campuses on the university grounds, with the other campus located at Soochow University in Suzhou. Daejin maintains its own building with accommodation and classrooms. also Yu Wenxia Miss World 2012 completed a four-year course in Folk Music in this university.

Northwest A&F University (NWAFU, A&F referring to Agriculture and Forestry; simplified Chinese: 西北农林科技大学; pinyin: Xīběi Nónglín Kējì Dàxué; traditional Chinese: 西北農林科技大學), is a national key university located in Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Industries Demonstration Zone, Shaanxi Province, P.R.China. The university has an old and abandoned name called Northwest Sci-tech University of Agriculture and Forestry, NWSUAF for short, which is still kept in the domain name of the university's official website.

The history of Northwest A&F University can be dated back to 1934 when National Northwest Senior College of Agriculture and Forestry (simplified Chinese: 国立西北农林专科学校; traditional Chinese: 國立西北農林專科學校) was established by Ministry of Education, Republic of China based on an act drafted by Tai Chi-Tao, General Yang Hucheng and Yu Youren in 1932. This was the first national senior college with speciality on agriculture field in the north-west of China and was also the only independent senior college of its kind. Yangling, where the university is located, is believed as the birthplace of Houji, God of Abundant Harvests, and is the area where he taught people how to grow and harvest cereals. Since 1934, 7 academic institutions or universities resided here gradually and it is reputable as Town of Agriculture Sciences. Many achievements have been made by university, such as wheat cultivars Biman 1 (by Zhao, Hongzhang) and Xiaoyan 6 (by Li, Zhensheng) which were dominant wheat cultivars in Yellow River-Huai River Wheat Growth Area and significantly increased wheat quality and yield. The Ministry of Education and Shaanxi Province Government proposed to merge the 7 scientific organizations to 1 new University and finally get approved by State Council in 1999, thus establishing Northwest A&F University.

The university expanded rapidly and has Top 3 research and teaching quality in China’s agriculture universities and is a member of “Project 985” club which is an organization of 39 reputable universities in China. Northwest A&F University's research achievements are dominant in the fields of agriculture biology including wheat breeding, entomology, agriculture resource management, horticulture, plant protection, food science(especially in Enology), forestry and veterinary. Besides, the university is also reputable in agricultural water conservancy, agriculture economics and management, agriculture mechanics and information engineering and ancient agricultural history research.The university has an annual income of around RMB 1.72 billion (around £172 million) in 2011,. By April 2013, the university has 1661 teachers and 28964 students.

Consisting of 14 college & faculties, Anhui University's broad-based education covers philosophy, economics, law, literature, history, science, engineering and management. Capital University of Medical Sciences (S: 首都医科大学, T: 首都醫科大學), also known as CUMS, CCMU or CMU, is a university in Beijing, China, which was originally called Beijing Second Medical College (北京第二醫學院).

Capital Medical University (CMU) was founded in 1960, with the original name of Beijing Second Medical College (北京第二醫學院). It ranks among the top academic medical institutions in China and is considered as one of the key municipal universities in Beijing. The founding President, Professor Wu Jieping, was a world-renowned urologist, member of both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The current President is Professor Lu Zhaofeng.

CMU consists of 10 Schools, 14 affiliated hospitals and 1 teaching institution. The university and the affiliated hospitals have a staff of about 20,000. Among the staff, there are 6 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering, over 1,000 professors, and over 2,000 associate professors. The university has over 9,000 enrolled students. CMU provides a wide range of educational programs for Doctorates, Masters, Bachelors and certificates.

The faculty physicians at CMU train annually several thousands of clinical residents and fellows.
